How to Work with ANYONE- distinguishing Personality Types in minutes!

No, a Porg does not belong to a pokemon clan?

What if there is a quick way to determine the Personality Profile of someone new, not spoken to, and not witnessed for more than a few minutes?

And no, it does not require  any Infinity Stone.

Gone will be the days of misunderstanding  due to not getting the Personality right- where a yes means a no, and a maybe means otherwise.

According to the Myers Briggs model, there are 16 Personalty types.  The advantage of studying the Personality types are to eliminate communicative  misunderstanding, to  understand the strengths and weakness of each other so  to facilitate smooth Teamwork, but also
to appreciate and celebrate our Difference, thus promoting Harmony - "People are merely Different, Not Weird."

From our March 2018 publication of

"Personality Profiles- the Super Simplified approach to Myers Briggs"

we came out with a Simplified Approach on merely 4  questions to determine Myers Briggs Personality Types, instead of the lengthy traditional 30 minute questionnaire.

And in this article, we will strive to achieve a similar feat.

 Based on the  groundbreaking book,
"The Art of Speed Reading People" by Tieger & Barron-Tieger, we learn to determine the Personality type of a person simply by looking at their manner of speech, body language, and appearance. We truly recommend the book as it stands out as one of its kind, thorough and well done,  with good information not found elsewhere.    We disclose here that we are not affiliated with the authors, nor are here to promote their book for a fee or monetary motive.

The book however can get quite complicated to apply, and thus we are here to propose a Simplified Approach to their research.

We propose a Simplified Approach that determines Personality Types within minutes.

Yes, minutes.


We are going to jump right into the core of our Approach- for those interested in the details and nuances of Myers Briggs, please read our previous article listed above and perhaps get the Tieger book.

Here goes-
To determine the 4 Letters of Myers Briggs Personality:

Extrovert/Introvert =   ANIMATED vs QUIET
An extrovert will be talkative, talks fast and loud, speaks their thoughts, interrupt sentences, move their hands and body actively.
An Introvert will be quiet, calm, talk slower, and think before they talk

Intuitive / Sensor = SHORT vs LENGTHY Speech Pattern
Sensors speaks short, direct, to the point.
Intuitive has complex speech pattern, long winded, likes to elaborate more, and like to ask questions.

Thinking / Feeling =  WARM vs COLD
Feelers are  warm and friendly, excited and emotional, have  great social skills-tactful and  gentle, sensitive to other feelings, with a  considerate style in speech.
Thinkers are cooler, low key, not as tactful and sensitive in speech.

Judging / Perceiving = FORMAL vs CASUAL
Judging people are formal, traditional, serious,  organized, on time, dress neatly, with straight posture.
Perceiving people are relaxed, casual, playful, casual appearance and posture.

So thats it!  All Simplified!
Once you get used to it, it can even be done within seconds!  (less than a minute)

Once one determines the exact Personality type, out of the 16, one can then use the proper communication techniques to communicate effectively and avoid misunderstanding and conflicts. For further research  on this, the Tieger  book is well recommended.

One may ask if there is any true, meaningful applications of mastering the above- to master  determining Personality types within minutes.
The answer is without a doubt, YES, YES YES

In urgent or time sensitive situations, where information is scare and action is immediately required.

Some eg of such  situations are-
education- where educators try to determine if a kid is telling the truth
law enforcement- why a criminal is acting in certain ways and to determine truths from lies.
mediation/negotiation - the role of a pacifier during intense conflict situations where the CORRECT  pacifying approach is immediately needed for the different players involved.
medical - to determine during emergencies  the validity of the patients' words or actions.
human resource - where a team of key players must be quickly assembled to address specific urgent situations

For those interested, one could further advance their research based on energy level, hair style, active vibrancy, facial expressions, frequency, hand movement, leg movement, stance, back+shoulders, eye contacts/movements, mouth movement, head movement, overall grace, charisma etc.

Important Note here- Any  short cut, simplified Approach will never be as thorough and complete as compared to taking the 30 minute traditional Questionnaire  to determine the Myers Briggs Personality.  However, life doesn't always give everyone the luxury of 30 minutes.  Any  good Simplified Approach will only give the best ROUGH approximation and should only be used under time sensitive urgent situations, and be relied upon selectively, through personal, subjective "selective judgement".
